Amazon Prime Air Drone Deliveries
Amazon announced yesterday the launch of its Prime Air drone delivery service for customers in Tolleson, Arizona.
The service is for customers who live near their Same-Day site in Tolleson, Arizona, and the purchased item weighs less than 5 pounds or can be delivered by drone in under an hour.
Amazon’s new location in Tolleson integrates Prime Air drone delivery into its network, allowing MK30 drones to launch from hybrid facilities that function as both fulfillment centers and delivery stations. This setup enables Amazon to fulfill, sort, and deliver products faster. Positioned near major metro areas, these Same-Day Delivery sites allow for quicker delivery and offer Same-Day Delivery on millions of items, connected to larger nearby fulfillment centers.
Amazon’s new MK30 drone, approved by the FAA for operations, allows Prime Air to deliver items to more customers with Beyond Visual Line of Sight capability, following a rigorous safety evaluation. This historic approval enables Amazon to expand drone deliveries, beginning in the West Valley Phoenix Metro Area, where customers can access over 50,000 essential items with fast delivery for a service fee. Tolleson Mayor Juan F. Rodriguez and Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego praised Amazon’s innovative contributions to economic growth and zero-emission technology, marking a significant step toward sustainable delivery solutions in these communities
