Dockworkers Reach Tentative Deal
The International Longshoremen’s Association and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) reached a tentative six-year agreement. The current contract has yet to be extended to January 15th to address the remaining concerns, including automation to replace jobs.
The port strike concluded swiftly, eliminating any major economic risks, but now the work begins with the backlog of 54 container ships as reported by Reuters.
