FedEx Rate Changes for July 14, 2025

🚨 New Penalty Fees
FedEx is introducing major penalty charges for oversized and improperly packaged international shipments. If your package doesn’t meet size or weight guidelines, you could be hit with:
- $660 per international package
- $1,325 per freight handling unit
Mistakes just got a lot more expensive.
🔍 Lower Weight Thresholds
The Additional Handling Surcharge for international shipments now starts at 55 pounds, down from 70. More packages are likely to be affected by this change.
📦 Domestic Surcharges Rising
For domestic shipments in Zones 5 and 6:
- Oversize charges are increasing by up to 24%
- The Ground Unauthorized Package Fee is rising to $1,775 per package — a 34% jump
💵 FedEx One Rate Increases
If you use FedEx One Rate — especially Express Saver or FedEx 2Day — expect price increases of 9% to 12% depending on the box type.
