    DHL–Shopify shipping integration

    Quick summary

DHL has rolled out a direct integration inside Shopify that lets U.S. merchants access DHL eCommerce and DHL Express services without separate carrier setups. The integration brings clearer duty handling (DDP/DDU), end-to-end tracking, and faster cross-border options—making global shipping more accessible to small and midsize sellers.

    What’s included

    • DHL eCommerce — Parcel International Direct: Delivery to 37 markets, typical transit 5–12 business days, end-to-end tracking, estimated delivery dates, value protection up to $100, and Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) support at checkout.
    • DHL eCommerce — Parcel International Standard: Delivery to 220+ countries/territories, full tracking, value protection up to $100, and Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) support.
    • DHL Express Worldwide: Door-to-door to 220+ destinations, typically 1–3 business days, with customs clearance (Paperless Trade), real-time tracking, and electronic proof of delivery.

    Availability & rollout

Live for merchants in the U.S. and Germany today, with expansion planned for Canada in September 2025 and additional regions through late 2025 and 2026.

What this means for parcel shippers

    • Lower barriers to cross-border: Native access in Shopify means fewer contracts, simpler setup, and faster time-to-ship internationally.
    • Duty strategy at checkout: Choose DDP to show landed costs and cut surprise fees (often improving conversion), or use DDU for flexibility where it fits your margins and customer expectations.
    • Predictability & CX: Full tracking, ETAs, and Express options help set clear delivery expectations and reduce WISMO (“where is my order?”) contacts.
    • Portfolio leverage: Combining economical eCommerce services with Express gives shippers more price-speed tradeoffs by market and product.
    • Competitive pressure: This raises the baseline for international capabilities on commerce platforms—expect peers and rivals to offer similar experiences.
