Merchant credit card processing review
We review merchant processing statements to explain your actual fees and identify processor charges worth negotiating.
What is credit card processing?
A merchant processing review breaks a card processing statement into its three parts: interchange set by the card networks, network assessments, and the processor’s own margin. Interchange is not negotiable, but the margin above it is, and bundled or tiered pricing often hides it. Separating the three shows exactly what can be negotiated and how much it is worth.

Understand your total payment processing cost.
A quoted processing rate may cover only some transactions or fees. The monthly statement shows the fuller cost of accepting card payments.
We separate interchange, network assessments and processor margin where the records allow it. We also calculate the effective rate: total fees divided by transaction volume.
This review is separate from our logistics services. It uses the same approach of comparing billed charges with the agreement and identifying terms worth negotiating.
What makes this different.
Fees broken down by type
We separate interchange, assessments and processor margin so you can see which costs may be negotiable.
Offers compared by total cost
We calculate total fees as a share of transaction volume to compare your actual cost with alternative offers.
Independent processor review
We receive no residual payments or referral fees from processors. Our review focuses on your costs and requirements.
How this actually runs.
Audit the statement
We separate interchange, assessments and processor margin, then calculate total fees as a share of transaction volume.
Week 1Negotiate the margin
We focus the negotiation on processor fees and margin rather than network-set interchange rates.
Weeks 2–3Verify the next statement
We compare the next statement with the agreed pricing and follow up on discrepancies.
Week 4
Questions shippers ask first.
What is our effective processing rate and how do we calculate it?
Can interchange fees be negotiated?
What is interchange-plus pricing and should we be on it?
