DHL Acquires CryoPDP for $195M to Expand Global Pharma Logistics
March 31, 2025 – Bonn, Germany: DHL Group has announced the acquisition of CryoPDP, a Nashville-based specialty courier service focused on clinical trials, biopharma, and cell and gene therapies, for $195 million. This strategic move aims to enhance DHL’s capabilities in temperature-controlled logistics within the life sciences and healthcare sectors.
With operations in 15 countries and handling over 600,000 shipments annually across more than 135 countries, CryoPDP will integrate into DHL’s Supply Chain division upon regulatory approval. This acquisition aligns with DHL’s Strategy 2030, focusing on expanding its Pharma Specialized Network and reinforcing its position in the high-value advanced pharma sector.
Oscar de Bok, CEO of DHL Supply Chain, stated, “The acquisition of CryoPDP is a pivotal move for our supply chain business as we aim to expand our Pharma Specialized Network to meet the evolving needs of clinical trials, biopharma, and cell & gene therapies.”
In addition to the acquisition, DHL and Cryoport, CryoPDP’s parent company, have formed a strategic partnership to strengthen their supply chain service offerings for the global life sciences and healthcare sector. This collaboration is expected to enhance DHL’s footprint in growth markets across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is anticipated to close in the second or third quarter of 2025.
