| Accessorials and surcharges | 32% | $640,000 | 9.5% | $60,800 |

UPS and FedEx both announced an average 5.9% increase for 2026, effective late December 2025 and early January 2026. The announced figure is an average across the rate table. Both carriers also tightened the size criteria for additional handling and large package charges, so accessorials rise faster than base rates. The defaults above are illustrative, not your numbers. The accessorial share matters most, and you can measure it from twelve months of billing data.

The calculator uses assumptions about your surcharge share. With twelve months of billing data, we can calculate that share and model the rate increase for your shipments.
What is gri impact?
The general rate increase is an average across a rate table, not a single uniform change. UPS and FedEx both announced 5.9 percent for 2026, but the increase varies by zone and weight, and accessorials rose faster than base rates. What you actually pay depends on where your packages fall in that table.
Worked example
On $2,000,000 of annual parcel spend with 32% in accessorials, a 5.9% increase on base rates adds $80,240 and a 9.5% rise in accessorials adds $60,800. The total is $141,040, an effective increase of 7.1%, not the 5.9% announced.
Published rates, not your agreement
This is a blend of two averages, not a cell-by-cell repricing. The announced figure is an average across the rate table, and your increase depends on the weights and zones you ship. The 9.5% accessorial default and the 32% share are illustrative; both are measurable from twelve months of invoices. Caps in your agreement are not applied.
